We all know that Microsoft is one of the biggest technology companies in the world.. The Windows operating system dominates the majority of computers in almost every household, without forgetting that it belongs to the most used productivity tool Office, which, by the way, has just released a new application for mobile operating systems.
However, the Redmond-based company also has a blemish. A few years ago, along with Android and iOS, there was another mobile platform called Windows Mobile, which despite the best efforts of its developers never reached the popularity of Google plus and Apple’s operating systemeven walk away.

Although Microsoft hasn’t abandoned the mobile market, as evidenced by the two recently launched devices, as we read in The Verge, Bill Gates continues to lament the missed opportunity with Windows Mobile and even dares to think of crazy things like the following.
For Gates sake Not only was Android a much worse platform than them, but he also believes Windows Mobile could have been number one if Microsoft hadn’t been embroiled in an antitrust probe. Strange statements from Bill, especially considering that Windows Mobile has never matched the numbers of iOS and Android, despite all the scrutiny it has endured.
“There is no doubt that antitrust law was bad for Microsoft, but we could have focused more on improving the operating system and now everyone would be using Windows Mobile instead of Android.”
Gates also believes that they wanted to release a great device together with Motorola, but they were too late and the competition overtook them. The truth is that it would be pretty strange to see what kind of device they would have launched… although we’ll never know.
