DxOMark analyzes the iPhone SE (2022) and the results are not as expected

The iPhone SE has a modern processor inside, but its photography is on par with terminals like the Google plus Pixel 3a or the 2018 iPhone XR.

The iPhone SE 2020 runs through DxOMark and the results are disappointing: it resembles Pixel 3a

The new iPhone SE was presented at the end of April this year It came to please all those users who wanted to have a powerful and compact phone in their hands. With the 4.7-inch screen and the rather controversial frames, the new member of the Apple family has the same performance as its older brother, the iPhone 11 Pro, thanks to its A13 processor.

However, and as might be otherwise given the price, that’s where the similarities between the small iPhone and the 11 Pro end. The DxOMark portal tested the iPhone SE 2020 and the truth is that the photography part is not as expected. Far from disappointing, the results could be better, despite the price of 489 euros. The iPhone SE is far from the best phones out there (photo wise)..

For DxOMark, the iPhone SE 2020 is on par with 2018 devices

The iPhone SE 2020 received a score of 101, beating models like the ASUS ZenFone 6 or the Motorola Edge + and along with other devices like the always interesting Google plus Pixel 3a or the 2018 iPhone XRa device that was successful in overall sales in 2019.

According to DxOMark, the iPhone SE generally takes photos of a afín quality to the iPhone 11. However, since it does not have an ultra-wide-angle module and therefore loses many other features, the end results are not comparable. Now things improve when we talk about the front camera, which sits in afín positions to the Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G.

For DxOMark, the good points this iPhone SE was:

  • accurate disclosure
  • good dynamic range
  • vivid colors
  • great detail
  • Correct use of flash

although the negatives:

  • bad zoom
  • Few details in low light
  • Loud noise in night shots without flash
  • bokeh issues
  • Few details in low light

Well, the iPhone SE might not be in the highest position, but keep in mind that it’s a €489 terminal. A device capable of competing with mid-range Android, with much higher performance thanks to its latest generation processor. A perfect terminal for anyone looking for high-end power in an understated body
